Expert's Advice (Dr.Ramani):- Thalassemia major is a challenging condition with severe anemia. Based on the heamoglobin level, blood transfusion will be advised. As it is a congenital problem with two defective genes, the child is born with the defect. But the fetal haemoglobin will be normal and is not seen immediately after birth.
