Ovarian cyst treatment this question feed

Maninz, 31 March 2018 5:54

Hi doctor, my age is 37. I am married and have 2 daughters. I live in New Zealand. Last year, I took oral medication to stop unwanted pregnancy at home. The pregnancy was only 1-2 weeks. After taking medicine, next day I went for ultrasound. The doctor saw a cyst but she suggested that it will dissolve itself. But after a year, I had severe pain during my periods. In ultrasound it came that cyst has not dissolved but it has grown to 6 cms on my right ovary. There is some muscle tissue in the uterus. Doctor has advised surgery. But I am scared of it. Is there any Ayurvedic treatment for it. Thanks and kind regards.

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Cysts less than 5cm are managed with medicines, but they are treated mainly based on the symptoms. Please take the following medicines and then review. Surgery is necessary when the medicines fail to reduce the symptoms and if there is quick progression in the size.

Ayurvedic medicines like Varunadi kwath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Divya Kanchanar Guggulu and Pushyanuga churnam can be taken for a month and then reviewed.

Include berries, horse gram, cinnamon, ginger, garlic, bottle gourd and sesame seeds. Reduce excess cold refrigerated foods, meat, broccoli, dairy products, oil, salt, soya and flax seeds. Yogasanas like Marajaryasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Matsyasana, Dhanurasana, Uthithapadasana, Trikonasana, Gomukhasana and Pavanamuktasana are beneficial.

Expert's Advice (Dr.Sony):- Hello, Haemorrhagic ovarian cyst results from haemorrhage into corpus leuteum or functional cysts You need not worry about the size of this cyst. This is small and will automatically resolve itself in 2 menstrual periods. Those cysts which are greater than 3 or typically 5 cms are matters of concern.
