Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Hello, An ovarian cyst refers to sac filled with fluid and is present in ovary. The cardinal symptoms with ovarian cyst are frequent bloating, lower abdominal pain, or lower back pain and improper menstrual cycle. Usually ovarian cysts are present and are harmless but they cause complications and severe pain if get ruptured or causes twisting of the ovary. Pelvic inflammatory disease is secondary complication due to cysts. Most women of reproductive age develop small cysts each month. The other symptoms associated with poly cystic ovarian syndromme are increased facial hair or body hair, acne, obesity and infertility. Every cyst needs regular monitoring but in your daughter's case since the patient is having cyst of nearby size 10cm ( which is quite big in itself) and also the patient is in her perimenopausal stage it is advisable to undergo the surgical intervention as soon as possible which involves the drainage of cyst as in case the cyst gets ruptured with in the ovary it may cause bleeding inside the abdominal cavity and in some cases may lead to shock. The probability of ovarian torsion is also high which can cause obstruction of blood flow and lead to infarction.
