Hi, I am male 25. Every morning I have diarreah for last 2 years. I struggle to properly digest food. It's not really completely diarreah but loose bowel movement. I can't control it; I have urgent need to use bathroom right after I wake up. Also I have low energy most of the day and feel weak and light headed. I am really skinny overall but my stomatch is stored with fat. I dont if this has to do with the digestion problem. I do exercise 3 to 4 times a week. What medicines should I take to eliminate this problem. Thank you so much

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

As with Ayurveda, the metabolism is based on the agni. As the agni functions well, the food is properly digested and eliminated. It also depends on the strength of the intestine. So please take the following medicines and review after a month.

Ayurvedic medicine like Kalashakadi Kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food, Organic bowel care capsules and Dadimasktaka churnam - 1tsp after food twice daily along with butter milk can be taken.

Eating smaller meals more frequently will be beneficial and enable the agni to function better.

Include goose berry, butter milk, asafoetida, turmeric, steamed apples, avocados, curry leaf and cumin. Reduce excessive canned foods, meat, dairy products, fiber, caffeine, carbonated beverages, nuts, seeds, spicy food and gluten. Practise Yogasanas like Navasana, Marjarayasana, Trikonasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, Utkadasana, Sukhasana and Shavasana which will be beneficial.

Thanks for advising but I feel like there are so many medicines recommended. Can you please narrow down to one or two medicine. Also I have been doing Kapalbhati since last three days and its been doing wonders. Now I only have to use bathroom one or two times max. Thank you!

Hello, The symptoms explained by you clearly indicates grahani in ayurveda or irritable bowel syndrome in modern sciences. In grahani the digestive fire which normally is responsible for digestion is altered. Loose stools or altered stools are caused by decreased digestive fire which later on produces ama dosha in body. Normally grahani(duodenum) causes bowel movement of undigested food in downward direction and absorbs the nutrients from food but when the agni is altered due to dosha, digestion process is disturbed. Ayurvedic medication advised for 3months are- 1.Dashmooladi kwath or devdaru kwath-30ml in equal amount of water twice a day after meals. 2.panchkola churan-1 tablespoon twice a day before meals with luke warm water. 3.pipparamoola churan-1 tablespoon in luke warm water before meals. 4.tikta ghrit or bilva ghrit-1 tablespoon wiith mlik empty stomach in morning 5.chitrakadi churan-1 tablespoon with luke warm water thrice a day. In diet buttermilk and curd are highly recommended alongwith warm water as the intake of fluid is recommended since frequent stools cause dehydration.
